Pakistan: ECP recommends July 25-27 as possible dates for general elections
Islamabad : General elections in Pakistan can be held from July 25 to 27. The Election Commission has proposed in the country from 25 to 27 July as the possible dates for conducting general elections. According to Dawn's news, the Pakistan Election Commission (ECP) has submitted a report to President Mamnoon Hussain and has requested him to fix one of the proposed dates as the election day.

Terming the term of the PML (N) government ending on 31 May,

this announcement came just a few days before the end of the term of the ruling PML (N) government. The tenure of the PML (N) government ends on May 31. There is also a consultation about candidates for the post of caretaker Prime Minister. 

According to the news, Prime Minister Shahid Khakon Abbasi had held a meeting last week with the opposition leader Khurshid Shah. The final meeting in this regard is expected today. Before the meeting, Abbasi met PML (N) leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif on May 21 and discussed the candidates for the post.

In April this year, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had disqualified former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from contesting elections for the rest of his life. This means that Sharif will not be able to handle any public term for a lifetime. This historical decision is going to change the direction of the country's politics. In July last year, the court had declared Sharif disqualified as prime minister for corruption allegations. All five judges unanimously said that those who are not honest and honest to the Constitution of the country should be banned from Parliament for a lifetime.
