Germany: Clear the way for Merkel's fourth term, with the second big party SPDI
At the beginning SPD had refused to work under Merkel for four years
Berlin: German Chancellor Angela Merkel has welcomed the decision of Social Democrats to join her coalition. Merkel said that "this decision is for the good of Germany." Merkel will have this fourth term. The members of Germany's second largest party SPD have decided to join Merkel's coalition.
For the past 12 years, the Chancellor had to make a lot of efforts to combine with the Social Democratic Party (SPD). In a post put on their behalf by the CDU party's Twitter account, it said, "I congratulate the SPD for a clear result and hope for more cooperation for the development of Germany."
At the beginning SPD had refused to work under Merkel for four years. The SPD's acting president Olaf Schulz said, "We have decided that the SPD will be involved in the next government." He said that the party has plans to send three women and three men in the cabinet.
