The name of the three statue of Murti Chakra was named after the Israeli city of Haifa

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu participated Sunday in the program organized here on the occasion of the three statues of Murthy Chowk named as the three statues of Haifa Chowk.

The two leaders presented wreaths on the memorial and also signed the visitor's magazine there. Netanyahu arrived here on a six-day tour on Sunday and received his Prime Minister Modi.

Three statues of bronze on three statues represent Hyderabad, Jodhpur and Mysore lancers, which were part of the 15 Imperial Service Cavalry Brigade. During the First World War, Brigade had won the attack by attacking Haifa city on 23 September 1918.

During this war, 44 Indian soldiers received martyrdom. Till date, the 61st Cavalry Brigade celebrates the establishment day or 'Haifa Day' on September 23.
